A NOTE FROM DR3W

Anorkia has, from day one, been a cost-efficient project. And by cost-efficient, we mean strung together and improvised in the utmost of makeshift ways. I'll always have fond memories of ghetto-rigging my dynamic microphone between pillows and blankets in my old cave-like Lansing basement, to record the guitar track for Denial. Or yelling my head off and nearly croaking from dehydration in a closet (considerably shorter than I was) someplace in West Michigan. Anorkia has recorded in wiry computer-adorned bedrooms, closets, dining rooms, basements, lofts and other makeshift U.S. work areas in Seattle, Spokane Valley, Staten Island, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Wayland, Port Huron, Mt. Laurel, and someplace in Iowa or Idaho or wherever the crud Kr-Lik was staying in 2002. That isn't even accounting for German side of the equation, hailing from r@zorbla.de's masterful audio dungeons in Dortmund and Bonn. Against great odds and financial limitations, we've made it happen. We're happy to offer our entire body of work from 2002-2011 for free, and we embrace the idea that expressing ourselves and connecting with an audience is much more vital to our purpose than making money. It will always be that way, with or without a record label.

If you love Anorkia, if we've reached out and touched you in some way (appropriately or otherwise), if you want to pave the way to future equipment upgrades and long-awaited live performances, or if you just have an extra wad of cash laying around collecting dust - we're accepting donations. 100% of all donations will be used for the evolution, maintenance, and overall expansion of our beloved international cybermusik project.
